Correct Craft Big Dawg Finals, Orlando, Fl.
The event will be pulled exclusively by Correct Craft Ski Nautique
There will be a $5,000 purse at each of the Qualifiers
The tournament is open to skiers 35 years or older, who have not placed in the top 10 in a pro tournament is the last three years, or if a skier is over the age of 50.
The tournament will be two days, two rounds of record slalom.
How to qualify for finals in Orlando: Skiers that make the top 8 (elite 8) at any one of the BDQs. That is 8 skiers from each BDQ or a total of 32 skiers. WE know there will be some overlap, so say the number becomes 24 out of those potential 32. Then the next 26 skiers is decided by the top 13 single scores from any BDQ and the next 13 skiers will be the top two combined scores form any BDQ. This will give us a field of 50 of the best 34 mph skiers in the world, where the National Big Dawg Slalom Champion will be determined.
There will be a $10,000 purse at the Finals in Orlando.
In addition to putting up the $30,000 purse, Correct Craft will be giving away the use of (for a ski season), a brand new ski Nautique.
Entries on a first come basis, priority will be given to skiers with an EP rating. There will be a cutoff date, sixty days prior to the event. If the tournament is not full (50 entries) the organizing club may accept additional entries from anyone wishing to ski. Entries sent to organizing club.
Running order for Sat will be seeded based on current USA Water Ski buoy count. Two rounds of record slalom Sat. with the top 16 ( sweet 16), advancing to the finals on Sunday. Top 8 single scores from Sat will be seeded 1 to 8, and seeds 9 to 16 would be best cumulative buoy count.

Full details of the 2006 calendar of events for the well established Waterski & Wakeboard World Cup series were released today in Switzerland by Kuno Ritschard, President of the International Waterski Federation. The World Cup series has brought the highest ranked Waterski and Wakeboard athletes to major downtown locations over the past two years to maximize exposure to the public. In 2006, the inclusion of an exotic location as the first Stop of the season will mark a new trend to further broaden the appeal and in particular for TV audiences. With a total of seven confirmed Stops on the schedule, this will be the biggest World Cup series to date.

As in previous years, the events included will be Slalom, Shortboard, Jump and Wakeboard. New additions in 2006 will be the Stops on Lankawi Island in Malaysia and in Beijing in China. Both are quite spectacular in their own way. This will also be the first major international event of this kind ever staged at these locations. The progress of the Waterski & Wakeboard World Cup series can be followed on www.iwsf.com throughout the season. A special 26 minute edited TV show for each Stop will also be distributed around the World by www.proactivetv.com
The reigning World Cup champions will all return to defend their titles in 2006. Slalom Champions, Michelle Simpson (USA) and Jodi Fisher (GBR) are currently training in Florida. Shortboard Champions Clementine Lucine (FRA) and Nicolas LeForestier (FRA) are training in France and South Africa. Jump Champion June Fladborg (DEN) has returned to College in her home country and Jaret Llewellyn (CAN) is training in Florida. Wakeboard Champions Louise Moore (GBR) and Phillip Soven (USA) have also begun their preparations for the new year. Emma Sheers (AUS) has just announced that she will miss the 2006 World Cup season as she and her husband Rick are expecting their first child in May and will be based in Queensland during the year. As the woman who dominated Slalom and Jump in recent times, taking both World Titles in 2003, Sheers was a strong contender for a 2006 title in the World Cup series.
MasterCraft will continue to provide all the specialized competition boats throughout the season (www.mastercraft.com) and they are already planning the logistics challenge ahead.
